Theatre about the marsh poet Hermann Allmers

»He was alone, had no descendants. He sold his land and travelled. He was very active, had dealings with artists in Worpswede, was in Italy and had the Rudelsburg. So he was already thinking outside the box.«

The Letzte Kleinod and the Hermann Allmers Society are realising a theatre project in spring 2021 that deals with the poet Hermann Allmers (1821 to 1902). The performance HEIMAT&FREMDE will take place at the writer's former home and studio in Rechtenfleth on the Weser.

Scenic spaces will be designed on the entire property of the Allmers House and the house will be bathed in coloured light in order to rediscover the building. A theatre trail will be laid out through the courtyard and the park behind it, which will be performed by local actors and the ensemble of the theatre Das Letzte Kleinod.

The project is supported by: Fonds Soziokultur, Landesverband Soziokultur Niedersachsen, Stiftung Niedersächsischer Volksbanken und Raiffeisenbanken, Stiftung Niedersachsen, Landschaftsverband Stade, Gemeinde Hagen im Bremischen, Landkreis Cuxhaven, Volksbank eG Bremerhaven-Cuxland, Hermann-Allmers-Gesellschaft.

Press reviews
